If you need a video operator, a hair stylist or make-up artist, we can as well advise you with the people we are used to work with.

In order to choose a professional who you will entrust to capture the most important day of your life, you must have an idea of how the work of a wedding photographer is done.

Usually the wedding report day begins with the preparation of the bride, and ends with newlyweds cutting the cake (at midnight or later). All this time you will be constantly followed by the photographer. You must be prepared that every move you do can be sealed in the picture.

Surely, the photographer would not want to be the source of irritation for you or your guests. The trademark of a true professional is to be everywhere and invisible at the same time. All the pictures will be taken very neatly, without blocking the couple from guests and presenters. The photographer can draw your attention during the construction of a group shot, and while shooting the couple he can advise on how to pose, where to look, as well as to offer some of his ideas.

The behavior of the photographer during the shooting is a very important aspect to discuss before the wedding. Maybe you want the photographer to shoot from a distance, only reporting – without raising shots, or conversely, you prefer refined angles and postures? The main thing is to point out all your preferences in advance, so that on your wedding day everything would be as you wish. We use both – reporting and staging style freely, it depends foremost on the location (a raising photo during a ceremony in the registry office or in church is simply impossible) and the mood of the young couple.

We prefer working in pair, Olivier on the side of the groom, Katrina on the side of the bride (so that you could be sure that no important moment of the day would be skipped or unnoticed). However, we work separate as well.

In order to respect the events, the photographer will match with a complete official dress code.

We will be happy to meet beforehand in order to discuss all the nuances. It is also possible to depart to the supposed place of the celebration (within Paris and suburbs) – moreover, it can appear to be very important for both you and us as well. The photographer will study the terms in which he will have to work, beforehand, and you will get a good possibility to make a few shots “Х days before the event”.

When we meet, we can also show you the footage we have of some other weddings, so that you could have an idea of what shots we provide (the few photos submitted online do not give the full experience).

During the wedding shooting is almost continuous, so the photographer can make about a few thousand pictures. From this material he will select 500-600 images that fit the strict criteria of the artistic merit and quality that give the fullest possible pictures of the events of the day. The correction of color balance and a small processing of the bride’s face will be done if necessary (however the best Photoshop is the ability to shoot so that the Photoshop is not needed).

Further processing comes on demand and is discussed separately. Whether you prefer natural or dramatic color combinations? What contrast and brightness level would you like to receive? Are you interested in a special stylized post-processing? Is the face correction needed on the large shots? Black and white photos, colored photos or perhaps both?

All the photos, both original and processed, are kept by us for an unlimited time, so you will be able to ask for them at any moment.

Photos will be ready within 2 weeks (up to 1 month in summer time). You will receive a DVD with selected photos or alternatively, an online gallery with the ability to download files and order prints (plus you will not need to send the photos to your friends).

If you prefer to do your own selection of the photographs – always stipulate that question in advance.

During the banquet it is possible to set up a “on location studio” and make a photo session of the young couple with the use of studio equipment (you‘ll have to make sure that the place you rented has enough place for the devices of the temporal studio, and discuss this possibility with the owners of the banquet hall or the guest house, beforehand).

If you wish that your wedding was filmed by both photographers, we will ask you to reserve the date beforehand – a warranty sum will be 200€. All precisions are included in the contract you can download. See at the beginning of this page.

Remuneration of the photographer comes directly before shooting the event (maximum – within 2-3 days before the shooting); by a direct bank swift-transfer or with cash (checks are not accepted).

If you are only interested in photographing the registry office + the walk, you can count on a special price.

If necessary, we will give you contacts of the couples whose weddings we’ve surveyed before, so that you can hear a good response from the people who had experience working with us.

Wedding photographers tips

How to look attractive on the wedding photos to proudly show them to your friends and be happy to review them many years later?

O’Kitty Team will share the secrets with you.

  1. Approach responsibly the preparation of the event. Prepare not only a place for the banquet, but a place for the official bride & groom portraits. A couple of days in advance try to visit all the places where you plan to shoot, preferably together with the photographer. Take your time. Let the photographer do a couple of frames. Note the time spent on the road.
  2. Prepare your personal appearance as well. It’s better not to purge the person at least one week before the wedding (under stress even the usual procedure can cause irritation, redness and swelling). The same applies to waxing, especially in the bikini area.Veil and paint your hair a couple of days before the wedding. Yes, you will still go to the hairdresser on the wedding day, but during this day the more time you save – the better. The day before the wedding make manicure, pedicure and eyebrow correction (eyebrows plucked on the wedding day will bring you reddened eyes). It’s best to leave the eyebrow correction to your make-up artist. If it’s impossible to do the day before – ask him/her to make the correction in advance to maintain (but never change) the form on your own.Dedicate the morning of the wedding day to hairstyle and makeup. Entrust your face to the master; do not apply the make-up yourself. The budget of a good make-up artist is 10-20% from the photographers’ budget, but without a qualitative make-up which will last throughout the day, it will be difficult for the photographer to take good pictures. Surely, the Photoshop could solve this problem, but a qualitative processing of all photos which show the bride will significantly delay the issue of the pictures.
  3. Prepare not only yourself, but the groom as well. Take care of his appearance in advance. Most men despise the services of beauty salons and they are wrong – just imagine the picture of your hands with rings on them close up! Maybe it does make sense to persuade him for a manicure?
  4. Take care of your joint appearance as well. Your clothing should be in harmony, so that on the photos you could look like a real couple. Accessories in one style or color, the grooms tie matching the material of the bride’s dress – there are lots of ways to say that you are a pair! Do not stop at the same flowers in his buttonhole, and the bride’s bouquet… Think of something special – the more original your look will be, the more inspiration it will give to the photographer!
  5. Discuss with the photographer all your wishes in advance, and the more specific they are, the better. If possible, arrange a pre-photo session held in conjunction with the hen-party – so that the photographer could find the right approach and the best views, and you could get used to his work style.
  6. Warn your photographer of all the surprises and turn-ups, such as the kidnapping of the bride or your escape from the guests. Give the photographer coordinates of the person who organizes all competitions and other entertainment at your wedding. Your photographer is the person who must know everything to be able to foresee the events and always be in the right place at the right time.
  7. Try to have a good night sleep before the wedding! It’s better to make hen and stag parties a couple of days in advance, otherwise the morning of the wedding you’ll wake up with a headache, a terrible mood and bruises under your eyes that no makeup will be able to cover. Only the Photoshop! And as for the processing of all images – see above.
  8. Give the witness a few of essential things (if the bride does not have a handbag with her dress), such as: tonal cream or fix (the very first kiss will destroy the perfection of your makeup), face powder, lip gloss (for a wedding, it’s better to refresh the lips with a lip gloss, instead of overlaying them with lipstick), a needle and a sewing cotton white and black in a secure cover, a mobile phone, a small bottle of still water, napkins, pins or invisible barrettes, if the bride has an elaborate hairstyle.
  9. Do not drink alcohol. Do not drink alcohol!!! The newlyweds can only take a sip of champagne after the registrar – and not in any case drink alcohol during the banquet meal. If you feel the need to clink glasses with all the relatives and friends – let there be a soft drink in your glass. Remember: Alcohol – is the cause of red nose, slanting eyes, “floated” make-up, stupid facial expressions and your most terrible enemy that day – tiredness. And if after one glass you do not even feel that drank something, it’ll surely be seen on the pictures…
  10. Calculate your time. Always keep 15-30 minutes in reserve in order to be ready for the unexpected. Keep track of time, but don’t hurry. And if nothing unexpected will happen – well, the more time you’ll have for photography. Typically, the photographer has plenty of ideas: to stand here, to look there – so it can take all of your free time between getting ready and the intercourse with the guests. So be prepared. This is especially true in regarding the walk – it is better to allocate at least an hour (a one and a half or two hours is the ideal way) to have time to make pictures that reflect the serene atmosphere of love and tenderness, instead of fussy jogging from point A to point B. If the circumstances are such that there is a very narrow time left for the walk, then it’s better to arrive earlier to the banquet hall to take good pictures indoors and have a walk another day.
  11. After all, be prepared for the unexpected – and if something happens, let it be your delight. The ideal wedding is not the one where everything goes according to plan, but the one where the couple refers with lightness and humor to any deviations.

And the last is, perhaps, one of the most important tips – be very careful choosing your wedding photographer! Any professional photographer incredibly values his name and reputation, and therefore is interested that only exceptionally attractive and successful works come out from his “pen”. But a picture is just a dispassionate recorder of the happening. Only the photographer who will be able to “feel” you and take your vision of the world and of each other, can make passion and emotion full images. If you and your photographer have reached true understanding – you can actually surpass yourselves and become devoted to the creative hand of the master and implement lots of your own ideas, but most importantly – become liberated enough to entrust the camera the most precious thing of all – your love.

Have a beautiful wedding, and successful shots!
